Product Engineer I (Location: Raleigh, NC)

TVU Networks Corporation (Raleigh, NC) seeks Product Engineer I with master’s degree in
electrical engineering or software engineering and two (2) years of experience in hardware or
software engineering.

Responsabilities:

  • Responsible for the complete engineering production rollout.
  • Responsible for compliance and certification process of new hardware products, including regulatory body
    standards, such as FCC, CE, CE safety and other worldwide regulatory and carrier standards,
    such as KC and Anatel.
  • Manage external labs throughout the process and act as the main
    engineering contact.
  • Act as an engineering resource responsible to investigate hardware product escalations, and test and troubleshoot electrical circuits down to component level on PCB board using lab instrument such as Digital Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter, and DC power supply.
  • Drive production development efforts for prototypes, test new line of products before
    launch, and report critical issues.
  • Review circuit schematic on EDA tool and collaborate with R&D hardware team in designing and prototyping electrical circuits.
  • Perform failure analysis on field return units and coordinate with RMA team to diagnose hardware/firmware issues on failed units.
  • Prepare failure analysis reports and corrective action reports to improve overall product
    reliability.
  • Work closely with design teams on multiple development projects including integration of multiple LTE modems, video cards, motherboards and external peripherals.
  • Perform QA test on daily release software build for various products and send bug report to developer.
  • Conduct in-depth audio/video transmission performance and quality tests of equipment.
  • Manage and test product beta software with customer and improve product features based on feedback.
  • Conduct test on Radio Frequency to enhance signal strength and signal to noise ratio on wireless modem.
  • Document technical specification datasheet for various products.
  • Serve as key resident engineer for Product Management, Operations, Manufacturing and Sales team.

 

Job experience required:

  1. FCC, CE and Anatel compliance and certification of broadcast hardware equipment ;
  2. Development integration with LTE wireless modems, RF antennas and video capture cards;
  3. Performing QA tests and conducting audio and video transmission performance and quality tests on broadcast video solutions;
  4. Conducting tests on RF, wireless and MIMO radio in laboratory setting; and
  5. Using tools such as Spectrum Analyzer, Waveform Monitor, Sync and Signal Generator, and Video Switcher to conduct tests.
